Cached instances require credentials - why?

Why do cached reports require credentials to be stored? Credentials required for snapshots I can understand, but a cached report is initiated by the user, so integrated security should be possible?
TIASince cached reports are shared between users (first user incurs the penalty
of retrieving data and processing the report, subsequent users enjoy the
benefits :-)), if the connection is based on integrated security you might
end up showing user A data which only user B should see.
So for example, it wouldn't make much sense to cache the paycheck report .
In this case, you want each user to get the paycheck information based on
who they are, so integrated security is an option. But you don't want Mary
getting John's paycheck report.
