Buttons

Hi.

Is there a way to insert a command button or flash button on to a report?

im using SSRS 2005 with VS 2005

Thanks...

You can't put standard controls on a report just specific RS controls.

You could put an image of a button and have some click through action on it.

|||But what about the effects of a button? Are there any rollover or click events?|||I can't think of a way.

button to export to excel

Hi, I would like to have a button on my report to export it to excel
(instead of having to choose the format from the toolbar and then press
"export").
Is there a way to do it? I know that there is a parameter that I can
add to the url for this but i don't know exactly how to add it to the
current url from my report).
Thanks.Yes it can be done.
Put a text box with text something like "Save as Excel" you can Underline
the text to look more like a hyperlink in the "Action" option of the text box
give the URL as
http://servername/reportserver?/SampleReports/Employee Sales
Summary&rs:Command=Render&rs:format=EXCEL. You can pass the parameters as
well.
PS: You need to create the replica of the original report and point in the
URL which takes it to excel otherwise you will have "Save as Excel" text will
also get exported.
Just to avoid that you can create the same replica (copy paste the report)
and remove the "save as Excel" text from the copy of the report.

Thanks for your reply.
As i understand, The only solution is to have two reports (for example
ORIGINAL and COPY_ORIGINAL).
1) My original report with a 'button' that have a URL of the
COPY_ORIGINAL and in that url i'll add the "rs:format=3DEXCEL" at the
end).
2) My copy that is the same as the first one (just copy&paste) but
without the 'button'.
Is that right?
Its look like it my be a solution exept for the problem that every time
i'll make a change in the original report i'll have to delete the copy
and create it again.
Did I got it right?
Thank.

Button to close reports

Stupid newbie question of the day: is there a way to embed a button to close
the opened report?It's actually not a stupid newbie question :) You could add a button that
calls some code to do this but what happens when the user exports it to PDF,
Excel, etc? I assume you want to close the browser viewing the report?

Button That Execute Stored Procedure

I have a button in a form that I want to execute a simple stored procedure to insert a single value into a database table.
The Stored Procedure is:
=================
CREATE PROCEDURE bplog_insert_invoice_detail (@.invo_Id Int) AS
INSERT INTO Invoice_Detail
(Invo_Id)
VALUES(@.Invo_Id)
GO
=================
How do i pass the value from and text field (@.invo_id) and execute the stored procedure when a button is clicked.
Regards.

This is untested, but it should work:

SqlConnection cn = new SqlConnection(connectionString);
SqlComment cmd = cn.CreateCommand();

cmd.CommandText = "bplog_insert_invoice_detail";
cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
SqlParameter parm = new SqlParameter("@.invo_Id", SqlDbType.Int)
parm.Value = parameterValue;
cmd.Parameters.Add(parm);
cmd.ExecuteNonQuery();

Hope that helps.

Button OK not responding

Hi
I am having problems with Report Manager. I am unable to submit any report
under Report Manager because the OK button is not responding.
This works fine on my production server. I have performed the same
installation on my development server and have encountered these problems. I
am unable to create roles, folders, or submit report, etc. There is not much
I can do because when I click the OK button the form does not seem to post. I
have other ASP.NET applications running on this server without any problems.
Does anyone have any ideas?
ThanksHi Nicky,
I'm having the same sort of problem. Did you ever resolve this?
Thanks in advance.

is like the button doesn't even exist.
Brian,
It is interesting that if I run the ReportManager from an IE session on the
server, all functionality like enabling user, up loading files, etc, work
just fine.
However, if I run ReportManager from on IE session on my PC, the OK button
for security doesn't work.
To add to that: We are using Novell's iChain in our security model. iChain
controls access to web resources.

server. I would look at the IIS logs. Or a netmon trace.

use. After I fixed the security settings so that the ASPNet worker process
could access these files, the Report Manager worked.
To trouble shoot this, try accessing the .js files directly.
